Importing model with Linked XForm not working..?

Hey guys,
I've made a winch thingy, that works great in my scene. I save it, and want to import multiple instances of this into my other scene.

Duplicating the whole rig works like a charm inside the main winch file, but when I try to import-merge the .max file of the winch into my other scene the spline I have (which is linked to 2 different objects using Linked XForm) will go off and it's all distorted.

I think the main problem is unit setup. I've modeled the winch using meters->centimeters (because meter-meter was not easy to work with at this scale)

My other scene (where I want to import this winch) is meter->meter. How should I import/save the winch, so that I can reimport it into my other scene in a working condition?

I will post a small Jing showing my winch. On import, the spline controlling the chain to the hook are moved waaaaay out of position.

Dunno the answer, but that rig is seriously cool.

My guess is because it is x form related, it uses world coordinates.
Don't know a remedy :(

Tried with Spline IK Controller, but that gives me 5000 Dummys, and I need to have 6 of these winches. Too heavy.. :P
