importing materail editor between scenes
show user profile  arcitek
I am using 3ds max design 2012. I am having a problem with one of my scenes so I decided to open a new file, import/ merge all objects, lights, etc. I then tried to get all of the materials from the old file into the new file’s material editor. I know how to use the “get materials” from the material browser by selecting a max file in lieu of the default mat file. This loads all of the older scenes materials successfully into the browser but it does not go into the material editor slots. How do I get the new scene material editor to match the former scene material editor in both layout and material slots?

I have searched other forums for an answer but I keep getting directions on how to export/ import materials into the browser or importing a single material into a material editor slot. I want all of my slots in the new file to match the old.

Thanks,

Kevin
