Hi guys, been a while since ive last posted something :)
Dont do too much 3d work for fun anymore but ive got a few projects coming for the cold winter thats coming :)

First concept was to recreate the feeling of being 6 again on the backseat of the car, cramped between tents and my sisters to go on summer holiday in france. We used to have a old bx. Loved the feelding of being on the highway with the lights and the big lorries going past. Since we dont have pictures of it i decided to make a series of 4/5 stills with the subject highway/traveling/night featuring a Citroen BX. Havent gotten very far yet but id love feedback on either the concept or the 3d work so far.

The other thing im working on is improving my lighting skills aswell as my polymodeling.
Also with both projects i am trying to compose it in Nuke which is actualy pretty ok.
I took a model i had laying round since 2010 and started working on it.

Love the composition/direction of the shot you posted. Looks really great and your eyes are directed towards the car very nicely. Also I enjoy the lighting in the shot as well. Reminds me of the color pallet of super8.

I think the DOF and the background scene give a great sense that what you are looking at is just a small slice of the area/world in which the composition takes place.

The car renders are nice, but I'm not feeling them as much. I've never been a fan of anything cartoony looking and right now the style looks somewhere between cartoony and real world which (in my opinion) clash with each other.

Stellar work though, all of it! Keep it up.

The garage scene will be amazing - already looks great. Be sure to add some orange glow on the horizon from the sodium lamps of some town you're driving past :)

Small update, did some textureing and refinement. Dont know for the moment what the next thing is going to bee, maybe make another shot perhaps.

Like the mood of the last render. The BX mesh has a lot of problems though and it will not look good on close up renders. But I'm guessing that's not what you're aiming for.

Hi Sangre, thnx for the feedback :) Yeah, never meant to have a close up look of the model but i am curious on the errors you mean. Is that comment based on the wireframe in the first post?

Here's a few things you can fix:

There's no need of 'quadifying' the entire mesh since you're not using any kind of subdivisions but some of the triangles might give you the mesh errors.

He guys, better late then never, here's my final update. Dont have much time anymore to work in my sparetime so this is it. I think the station and the view from the back are the best. I tried to add some depth to the images by adding a warm and a cold light in the scene. In the end i desaturated most of it out again. At first i did lots of little things in post but after reading a post by Peter Guthrie i threw it all away and treated it more like how i would treat a photograph. In the end all i did in ae were little color corrections and that was that. Hope you like it and hope to see some constructive feedback i can you for the projects to come. Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys :) The haze was pretty tricky, i first did it in a seperate pass and composited in post but later i changed it and did it in one go. :)
