I want to take a line and make it a table.

So I have this line I've created, which is essentially going to be the edge of a circular table top. What I want to do is take this edge and create a large 360 degree motion which will basically generate a full table top edge, and fill in the rest of the empty space. Does that make sense? Using the line I've made.

If you watch the video on this page:

He seems to to something similar at 25:48

Can someone tell me how to do this as I've tried to replicate it but all it creates for me is some freaky upside down wine glass thing

The Lathe modifier is what you want. Use the Max F1 help files to learn more about it. Pretty standard however, draw a line, apply lathe modifier, choose axis, collapse stack.

edit: Judging by your other post you've managed it! But, it'd be cool if you kept all similarly related posts in one thread. MaxForums is a simple creature and threads can get buried to page 2 or 3 within a very short amount of time if lots of people start posting threads all willy nilly.
