Xfrog is good but pricey for making trees. I've got some evermotion trees good quality and pretty good prices too.

I've got a lot of evermotion ones that seem to do the job, though they are a resource hog, so I usually have to turn them into vray proxys.

onyx trees have served me well for the last 3 years or so.

Cheers,

Does anyone know what kind of trees Alex Roman used in the 3rd & the 7th film?
And how the heck did he texture and animate those trees?

Alex Roman:
"Botanical research, both in real and CG terms. I had to create several different samples of each species while keeping the highest level of detail, and then still be able to render it all at once! It was quite hard."

Manolo - Can you show any Onyx trees that you've done?
cadmonkey33 - I believe those are all for mental ray.
