Human joint deformation help

Hi all, and thanks again for the help so far.

Im using 3d max 5

Ive rigged a character and was using lattice deformers to fix all the ugly deformation around the joints, which was working really well. But when I tested it in the game engine (Im using a trial version of True vision 3d and export it in Panda file format) mesh around the joints was back to its original state. The charater and the animation imported fine but the mesh around the joints reset. So it looks like the engine dosent support lattice deformers.

Is there an alternative way to clean up mesh around the joints?

Ok, Im using the vertices weight table to manually adjust each one. I dont have enough freedom to get the joints perfect, but it will do for now I think.
