How to make this selection?

I have an Editable Poly object. Is it possible to select an area (of polygons) just by selecting the edges surrounding them?

If you select the edges then hold ctrl + press 4 it will select all poly's connected to those edges.

Not sure if that's what you're after.

If you want to select the center poly's (of the area you want to select) and press "grow" that works too.

Not sure if the "haven't improved since 2010" features of the ribbon can do the same, but with Rappatools you can fill holes and areas based on selection.
