How do they do this?

I presume the footage is tracked by matchmaking software (boujou) then the 3DS objects are imported to be compositioned.

What I want to know is how they get the color/textures in the footage to seamlessly blended with the 3D objects to make it look so realistic?

I was wondering how the color matchup is so seamlessly done between the 3D objects and the footage?

forget matchmoving, it's easier to do it with fronats.
It has also automatic colourmatching in it.

no I saw a program on this, the fronats are sequenced. Once you set the array up the matchmaking and colourtone are automatic.

on the serious side...

that`s the fine art of compositing that does the magic...

it`s hard work, and lots... LOTS of little tricks and thingys to achieve seamlessness :P

no automatic procedure, no one button solution... ;)
