Like K-tonne says, it should be horn, not bone. Find a picture that has the texture like you want, then copy it in Photoshop. Use this on the horn.

Vikings never had horned helmets, btw.

Crits:

No shadows
No real textures
Odd lighting
The fur looks so thin that from some angles it's invisible
Poor sampling quality on blurred reflections
Vikings didn't have horns on the helmets
Depending on the period it is supposed to be from, it could not be manufactured as it is

The model looks ok, if it's a make-believe thing with no bearing on reality. Real ones are made from metal panels, joined together. This looks like it's made from extruded aluminum or similar.

I really would suggest working from photos of a real one.

I think I saw a video of you wearing it on redtube the other day. It looked like you. Well, from the back. Hang on, that sounded wrong. Ignore this whole post.

Thank you Nik Clark, I'm still amateur so I don't know how to set up a scene, lights and cameras for the final design... also what do you mean by No real textures?

and it might not look like a viking cask but as far as I saw in cartoons they use to have some kind of horns...

In fiction only.

If you think about it, why would warriors put handles on the helmet? When cattle are slaughtered by hand, the horns are used to hold the head while the neck was slit.

If this is fiction, then that is fine. If you are doing anything that needs to be "real", then it is historically inaccurate.

The horns come from a 17th century historian who combined the head-gear of a Norse religious ceremony with the helmets of the warriors. They didn't have wings on the helmets either.

If you want greater historical accuracy, check out this page: http://www.hurstwic.org/history/articles/manufacturing/text/viking_helmets.htm

As for what I meant about the construction of a Norse helmet, the following image illustrates what I mean.

If you are not fussed with reality, then please ignore this!
