how can i animate like this?

hi fellows!

this is my first post. i would like to know how to animate the logo in the clip (link provided below). also if anyone is able to shed some light on the material used on the logo i would be grateful.

You need a 3D deigning program and experience to learn how to use it.

thanks for the urgent reply. i know and work in 3ds max. but somehow i am not able to animate like the one in the clip. i don't want to learn exactly as shown in the clip, but just how to start. what should be used. i would appreciate if u could let me know some general points for animating the logo as shown in the clip. i have tried animating slice, but am not able to get the desired results.

try to animate a spline, like this:

animate slice modifier + cap holes could work as well.
Prolly have to have a few seperate objects to comprize the logo.

I did something like that once by using a boolean operation and animating the operand.

splines and modifiers like lathe and extrude are stuff i d use
(your logo shape will determin what modifiers are best for your animation)

as for the material, it is some reflective material and some hdr image used for reflections

google this stuff and u will be able to make it in no time
