hoses detatching confusion (probably simple?)
show user profile  khyatt
Ive got a series of 16 hoses linking two parts of a large engine, the first part of the engine is made to bounce up and down gently, but (seemingly) randomly the hoses have detatched themselves from the top binding object, yet the object name is still written in the top bound object area so surely it is still selected?
these top items that the hoses are bound to are linked to what is now a group.
it started off with one hose not stretching with the engine part, now randomly all but 3 have separated themselves from the top item but i cant think of what ive done for this to happen. it only happened when i re-opened the max file and drew in a circle and a rectangle, checked they were still attatched by moving the engine block, and to my horror all but three are now not responding to the top bound object.
im hoping ive done something very silly and simple but it seems strange that theyve done this even though ive not touched them sinse the last test :s.

thanks, katie.

I thought maybe because you were grouping things that was your problem as grouping and animation
don't always play well together. But, I set up some hoses and attached to some boxes and then grouped those boxes with other objects and no matter what I did I could not get the hoses to detach.
I wonder if your file somehow became corrupted?
I'm using max 2012. What version of max are you running?
