Home Audio Streaming

I invested in a very nice and powerfull home sound system.
It's mainly a subwoofer+satelites connected to an av receiver intended to blow us out of our seats when watching movies (it seems to also trembles cups and saucers in adjacent buildings..).

As i work pretty close to the system i'd rather send my music over there instead of using my far less spectacular pc sound system (2+1).

I am not looking for Sonos or Squeezebox systems as i already have speakers, i just want to be able to:
- Stream internet music from my wks to my 7.1 receiver
- Stream local audio to it too
- Change tracks or internet channels
- Control the volume (not a must)
- Possibly send it to other devices (like a laptop+speakers in another room or garden or a dlna android stick in our tv in the bedroom)

I don't think i am asking much, the technology is already there i just need to find the right software or an app or something ?

Sonos Connect (no speakers, just a streaming unit with digital output)
Pioneer N-50
... or the Naim productline if you have some money to burn ...

My opinion: go sonos. Thing like this need to be easy to use from tablets or phones. You dont want to use a remote to browse through a list of 200 albums on a screen thats just a couple of centimeters wide ... So whatever system you buy, it needs a good app for your phone or tablet. And from what i know, sonos is king there.

Why not push the envelope...
Would be nice if you could have the same device process audio and video no ?

In fact i already have this working with windows connecting all my stuff together.
I can send images, audio and video to my h.cinema with sound system.

The only thing is the windows player is 'very' dodgy, crashes = totally unreliable :(
