Help With Cloth Modifier
show user profile  3DNewbie110

It has taken me 2 days to get the look I want. This is going to be a Hydroponic system.  I'm trying to make a new design and maybe sell the planes with 3ds max CGI :-) But now I got the cloth to fall the right way, now I need to put on a top(roof), and it needs to press down on the plastic as it would in real life.  Look below and you see what happends.

I get This

And This

If any one can help me find a way to have this plywood press down on the cloth in simulation that would be what I'm looking for!

Your post is unnecessary, I came here for help, so please post if you have something relevant to say.

A) This is your first post here, don't tell us what to do

B) Grotey is the most helpful person on here, you would do well to not be rude to him.

C) Your pictures break the rules. You claim you have read the rules (by posting here), yet you break them.

Your cloth needs more segments, and check your samples-per-frame and tolerance.

hey a flame on grotey, how to not to make friends. Grotes dont meen anything by what he says, its just him saying hi. Maybe try to tweek the verts manually after the cloth has settled.

Look I don't care about him. I was trying to get help, and was shot down for a dumb reason. And I guess I can't put up pics as well? As I read around forums, I find this more often then not. What is it about 3d Designers that make them so arrogant. I'm sry I did not go to school for this, I should not of ever bought this software, waste of money. Just trying to build Plans for resell and make some money with what I enjoy to do.

I do alot of posting, but the 3ds max community seems not so helpful unless your smart and do good work. no room for the beginners. Yes I looked all over the net on the cloth modifier, and can't find what I'm trying to do. Thats why I thought these forums where created to help people like us, not to stroke your ego's.

Sorry to bother you, Bye

This site should be changed to TurdPolishers.org since that what more than half the questions are about (including mine, I'm not digging at "3dNewbie110"... much).

And how does BIG text CONTRAST with BIG pictures?

BTW, this is the most friendly and fun max forum on the internet. Stick with us, use smaller fonts, and you will get the best help there is.

This is the internet though, so you have to have a built-in filter for stuff you don't want to read.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Aww I care about you though! :( I didn't shoot you down I asked a question.

Of course you can post pics, they're the best way of communicating of a forum but this forum has size limits which we ask members to abide by. (as you have done now)

You have one problem with cloth and render the whole software a waste of money?! blimey, you're committed.

If you're gone, then its really no skin off our noses, have a nice day.But if you want to stay then this is the best place to do so. A member on here 'poopsmith' has made a tutorial on cloth that may be of help to you. I dont use cloth myself so can't help any further.
