Help with a material - Vray
show user profile  9krausec
Hey guys,

I'm having some trouble getting this sparkle out of my materials. The example is below... I've tried Vray Metal Flake material, but the scale of this effect is far finer than what I think the VrayFlakemtl was intended for. Any ideas about how to approach to this to get this scattered metallic flake look on my material? I wouldn't ask if I hadn't been banging my head against a wall first.

same sort of effect you see on the road at night but denser... Thanks for any ideas guys.

and then seconds after I post I think I figured it out... I had the mapping type wrong. It needs to be Triplanar projection in object space... I have no clue what the hell that means, but now my VrayFlakes are small and dandy.

I got it from here guys. Thanks (FOR NOTHING.. jk)
