Help with picking monitor
show user profile  _3dioot
Hello guys,

As the title suggests i could use some help with picking a monitor. Im currently using a Samsung SyncMaster 930BF Specs are halfway the linked page and yes its an older monitor.

This has been serving me fine and still does. However id really like to work with dual monitors so im looking for a new one to become my primary monitor and my current monitor will fulfill the role of the secondary monitor. It will be used as a "reference" monitor. So i can have my references while drawing or modelling always visible.

Im thinking about spending around ~300 euro's on my new monitor. I asked KB for advice and he recommended me a 1200 euro monitor. As you can guess while its undoubtly a great monitor thats not the category im looking into.

Since you can never have enough space im thinking about a 22 inch widescreen monitor. I do play a game every once in a while and watch a movie so response time is important but it seems < 2ms response time is the standard today while my current is 4ms so i dont see that being a problem.

Currently i have my eyes set on this one Samsung 2253BW My question to you knowledgable people is; is this indeed a wise choice and if not what should i pay attention to to pick a better one? :)

Muchos gracias for any insights you are willing to share.

hey 3dioot,

can't go wrong with samsung, i vouch for the 2253bw
great value for money imo

i would however go for a 24 inch if u can, 24 inch is the best investment and gives you a really comfortable working area for a long time to go

I'd go with the Samsung as well. I'm hoping to upgrade to Samsung 22"s in the near future. I currently use 3 Samsung 930B's and have never had a problem with them.
