Need help choosing renderfarm service [i need good support]
show user profile  khamski
I bumped on Rebus while searching for something.
So i installed their program. Adapted my scene as it told me and sent it to their servers.
As a result i got image with different colors.
With a bit of a yellowish look.
So i guess it;s something with gamma settings.
I tried to toggle help chat but it didn't work.
So my qurstion is. What rendering service can you advice.
Theone that i can talk too and whine about results i get.

Someone will suggest something, the calculator on Rebus is useless, just bought about 5x the credits I actually needed for the render job...not even close.
They wouldn't deliberately over estimate jobs to generate income would they ? ;)

maybe they're getting more 'massive spam' than usual
'to remove that text do a payment' isn't even a rational sentence
surprised people don't see that and decide not to bother- maybe they turn into massive spam at that point
there's a vray render farm if you're into that- might not need as much adjustment

Renderfarms are like skunk farms , there's usually just skeleton staff maintaining the network.

@khamski...dunno, afraid you just have to suck em and see.

Our dialog with garageFarm:

so my scene: 3ds max, multiscatter, CityTraffic with lotas cars, 4 xref files with .itload of polys. Around 100 mil.
animation 500 frames
is it possible to render
how long
how much

Unfortunately we don't have CityTraffic plugin so if it's free you can send it to us or let us know where we can get it. If it's not free then we'll check what we can do with that. If you have xRef's in your scene then please merge them with scene because our netrendering system is not cooperating with xRef's very well
Please keep in mind that working with new plugins (for us) can increase time of delivery final frames because we need to check how it'll work with our netrendering system (yn)
GarageFarm.NET: If you would like to check very rough estimate you can use online calculator on our website here:
To check more accurate estimate you can send to us your files for totally free test purposes. To do that it's enough if you let us know that your project is ready and we'll create an FTP account for you where you'll be able to send your files :)

====== end of quote

blah... plugins are not welcome.. xrefs are not welcome either...

Crazy, I've just started to look into other renderfarms, it seems any man and his dog can set one up, keep coming back to Rebus.

The reason I like Rebus is the total integration with Max and automated process, seems well thought out, single frames, animations, scene smart check, auto download manager plugins updates etc, I can live with the render point over estimation, always good to have credits for future work, client paid for the points so technically I'm getting freebies.:)

What frustrates me is the live chat ...or lack of it, if Rebus had a 24/7 live support it would be the perfect solution, (maybe being a bit unrealistic here and unfair to Rebus), they do have email and a support phone number....I was in a flappy panic bout the realflow mesh loader not rendering... with hindsight I should have just rendered out single frames until I found what was wrong.

I just hit a deadline with 20 mins to spare because I had to render 200 frames myself :P

np, I think if you bear with Rebus it will pay off, no other renderfarm can touch it's features afaik, in theory you can just keep registering new emails and get 10 euros of renderpoints to try out all the features and run tests...watermarked of course, but it's not costing you anything. ;)

email support is pretty responsive.

Yeah but it's not the problem.
Problem is that i get different pictures from my render and from rebus.
Seems like our gamma settings are different.

No chat support no help.

What to do?

Of course i will.
I am sure client won't accept visualisation with tons of red text on it. )))
