Help - "Body Object" in model provided by client has holes....I can't fix./...grrr
show user profile  Dr_Jim
So, as you all know I am one of the most proficient modellers on this forum....however this has me stumped!
lord, I am such a tard.

Client provided this crazy model....and one part of it is missing some faces which results in holes on each side. See the pic. I have no clue how to simply fix this! Cap Holes creates a whole other mess....and it needs to stay a 'body object'.....

Who wants to get to make me look stupid and help me fix this?
Oh....the model (should anyone wanna really do it for me :) is here:

Pic of problem (and its mirrored on both sides of the model).

Quickest way is to delete that area then bridge.

Those top and bottom segments are curved. And I dont think 'body object' has a bridge mode or any poly tools.

Okay, well what about retopologising it? It should be fairly quick to do the top part, just make a plane with tonnes of segments then conform it to the body object using graphite modelling tools. I could make a video if you need.

[edit] the conform is a bit buggy when it comes to holes (just had a quick go then). I'd personally chuck it into zbrush and use zremesher to see if that works, sure you'll need to fix the holes after, but you could potentially mirror by symmetry (if it's rotated correctly) to mirror the good side onto the bad side.

Got it.
Converted to editible poly. Fixed 1 hole.
Cut in half.
Symmetry on stack.

Thanks herfst! Appreciate you jumping in!
