Head shader study | Vray sss2 shadin

Hey guys, I have not posted in ages due to work and partying like a mad man. So I thought id get back into the game and study more. I am gunna test out the sss2 shader in vray, but before doin that I need a human head model. I am quickly modeling / sculptin / texturing atm. Ill post updates. Then when the model is done, ill post my sss2 shader settings as I go along with my tests. Ill be back.

Hey guys, I decided to go with Mr shaders instead. I fig to learn this abit more before using vray sss2. I have here is 3 maps, one is defuse Layer, Pores Layer and a Spec layer. Both the spec layer and the pores layer are very basic tones of color. I am focusin on the Defuse layer touching up tones of color around the face. I am gunna try to make the color map work with the SSS shader with very light tones of color. Right now the shader looks like a Doll lol. But im gunna add in the rest of the differances once i get my tones down. Im gunna addin like Pimples and shit, gunna be awesome!!! (drinks my cold ass beer)

Okey a lil update here. I did a lil more varations of the skin tone in the defuse layer. I also tweaked my mr shader. I am almost done with the difuse layer just a few more touch ups. Once that is done I am gunna re work that spec map and possibly intoduce the normal map and the bump, disp etc etc. Anyways Ill be back with more updates :)

Renders are up to 5 to 6 min :( but I must have patience!

I think i am almost done the tones of colors.. im just getting real picky lol. The mr shader on the other hand is complete. The values for the spec map and the overal reflectivity could be better. Ill work on those lil more. Ill be back with updates.

Yeah man the wrinkles and the pores are far too exaggerated I think

Yo! yes I agree with you both :) atm its still skin tones, Its my pore texture map thats over exagerated in my composite slots. I still have to recreate that pore texture, right now its just a stand in. I also wanna change the light setup when im close to done, I think it will change the mood. I still have to decide on how i want that light to be. Right now its just there, lol thnx for critts! love em!

do some work on the profile and tone down the wrinkles and you'll have a pretty good Fedor model
