Hardware n00b - Which processor is better?
I have had Star Wars Battlefront for my PC as a Crimbo present which is awesome but although I know my graphics card is crap can anyone tell me if my processor is up to the job (technically)?
What I have:
Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
What they say is the minimum required:
Intel i3 6300T (or equivalent)
I come from a time where simply the GHz value of your processor literally translated as to how fast your PC was (the 1990s) but now with all the different i3/5/7s and quads/duos and all the rest of it means I have no idea what I'm doing with this stuff any more (yes I'm old). Is there an easy way to tell?

Toms hardware used to have a database where you can easily search for cpu's and compare the performance, cant seem to find it though.

had this link posted on Faecesbook.
My quad scores 2998 and the i3 scores just over 5000 so I guess that answers that! New PC it is! :)

the architecture is completely different now.
a Core 2 Quad was probably better than a low end i3 1st and 2nd generation of i Intel CPUs, but now, there is a huge difference.
take into consideration that we are talking about a cpu that has almost 10 years ( the core 2 quad )
