Hi guys,
I am modeling this
but this curve is driving me crazy.
I have tried with 40 sided cylinder, removed 5 side edges, added edges again, pulled in vertices, added loops and ts but failed.

any tip?

Edit:
another try. Curve at back side is not done yet and neither i am modeling the scope exactly. First i am trying to solve the problems i was facing then i will model according to the reference image, am i going on the right path?

Not sure I can agree with that one Bolteon, based on my knowledge on CAD it takes like 3 times as long to do stuff there, although its very powerful and accurate.

Than you got issues with converting your cad into polygons for uvw mapping and other stuff you might want to do with it.

CAD may have changed a lot since I last used it, so I could very well be wrong here.

That basic shape shouldn't take more than an hour and will produce results a lot better than polymodeling.

If you're going to be unwrapping and texturing (non-procedurally) then CAD is just good for the whitebox; else, like Death says, it can take longer to fix than starting from scratch.
