HairFarm for 3ds Max Question.

HI! ^_^ So Im thinking about buying HairFarm, but of course the feature I really need is not available on the demo version! lol And I can't post in the HairFarm forums tell I buy it (I think thats how it works, I didn't see any registration anywhere) so I figured Id ask here and see if anyone can show me some screen shots or links to tutorials. Iv hunted and searched and googled all over the place, but I can't seem to find anyone who uses HairFarm the way I need to (either that or just no one is sharing lol >.<).

Anywho, Im looking for information on how the HairMesh to Poly modifier works. The games I work with need hair in polys not strands. I am pretty experience with meshing them using splines and NURBS, but Im hoping that HairFarm will be much faster so I can be more productive.

The main things Im wondering about is:

1. Does the modifier take each stand and turn it into a mesh? Or does it just take the extruded box (the yellow one that looks like a mesh) and turn that into a mesh?

2. Does the root of the new mesh stay flush with the root object? Or does it go all wonky? I tried to use Ornatrix, but when you twist the strands, the root twists as well, and you end up with the root end of the mesh strand poking out and not laying flat on the root mesh. Which yeah I could go back in and snap it down, but that would take just a much if not more time then meshing it from scratch.

3. I heard they were coming out with a HairFarm 2 soon? Anyone know if that is just a rumor or are they really? I couldn't find any documentation about it on their website so IDK.

So yeah, what Im looking for is links to tutorials I may have missed, or even just some screen shots of what happens when you add the HairMesh to Poly modifier. I would hate to spend all that money and then not have it do what I need. lol >.<

Well, I sent Hair Farm an email to see if they can answer my questions. Ill post if/when then reply. ^_^

hairfam is all modifier based, so you can add a hair to splines/poly modifier. We are using it for rendering so I havent tested the feature for realtime/game. I would assume it would work.

I dont have a licence atm (shared) so once I get one I can test the root function for you.
