Hair & Fur -- Grass

I'm looking for some help with some grass i am trying to create. I am using hair and fur but cant seem to gain control over it and it isn't looking anything like grass.

Any tutorials about??

I don't know if it has to be hair in fur, but if not this tutorial is easy and yields great results

Check out the hair and fur masterclasses by this guy on youtube (I think he helped make the program)

I'm pretty sure I saw grass in theree amongst his tuts (like halfway through one of the vids).

I am currently using grass modifier for an outdoor scene myself. What helps to make your grass look more realistic is if you use the same diffuse texture as your grass texture that your using on your polygons that your applying hair too to your actual root/tip diffuse on the hair modifier. Once you do that under General Parameters > Density > 100% give it a map of an unwrapped area of your grass with a greyscale map of how you want your grass to appear, since it usually isnt all the same height and placement on real ground. Darker areas for lower grass Whiter areas for higher grass, give it a random effect with a gausiation blurr and it should look nice. You can also put it under "Scale" to help the size factor.
