Grey edges on baked texture
show user profile  Black Mariah
So I'm baking textures before exporting to a game engine. Using default settings, existing mapping, bake the damn thing, and for whatever reason the edges have all decided to be grey. I know next to nothing about baking so I'm lost already. *headdesk*

I think it was Socrates who said... "I drank what?"

I would try "bleeding" your texture over the edges of your map, just in case

Yep, sounds like a padding issue. Bump the padding up to 2, 3 or 4 until it doesn't have any edges.

Figured it out. My environment background was set to grey and rendering to texture didn't like that. Changed it to black, deleted all the baked textures, started over, and it's all fine.

Pilot error. 322 passengers. No survivors.

Nevermind that wasn't it. Why can't anything just damn work?

are you using the latest fully patched version of the software ?

if not, that would be your next move.

realize you don't want to hear it from me, but you asked the question.

* fucks off before being instructed to.

Cranked the padding and that seems to have done it. Only thing I can figure is that the tightness of my UV mapping (some of the shit is quite small) is doing wanky things. Bleargh.

If you post an image of your model maybe someone can see the error easier (assuming it's not fixed). Maybe also post a shot with checkermap applied to the diffuse so we can see if the uvw's are the problem.
