thought i'd give it a go. quite nice so far. very clean and simple. but a quick question -

in FF one of my most used options was the google search bar in the top left hand corner. it was invaluable to me. where ever i was on whatever page, it was like a constant google search option available to me.. in Chrome it's gone and i'm kinda lost without it. how to i get it to appear?

Hi Strat, because it's google you just type it into the address bar and it will google it for you.
Firefox I believe does this too, Safari on the mac is the only thing that really comes up with a "couldn't find address" these days rather than taking you directly to google with all the popular search results.

I'm really digging Chrome, it gets a bit unstable at time, but its definitely getting better. Can't wait for it to come out on the mac, my mac air needs something that takes up 0 memory so it can actually run at an ok pace ;)

cool. thanks. couple more....

1) how do i get rid of that irritating tooltip thingie on the bottom left that keeps popping up?
2) where can i find the page loading status line?
3) bookmarks - how can i quicky add side notes to them? in FF you just right-clicked and did properties, then added extra notes in the description box. i like to keep login and password details here incase i usually forget
4) ff gives good predictive text when typing anything into the google search bar. how do i get predictive text in chrome?

I always use chrome now. I just type in whatever I want in the search bar and it googles.

It's a bit slow with image heavy sites I think.

Infinity goes beyond even this. You type your search request into the address bar, then hit go or press return. Et voila, the search results appear directly in front of you (not a page with links to the search results).

If you want more results, hit the search icon again.

Whenever we use chrome, why does it show 3 chrome entities in the task manager, process tab. This happens even when there is only one default tab open and accessing a website.

yeah, been using it this weekend. it's a bit quirky and lacking a few taken-for-granted functions, but it's just another browser at the end of the day.

it doesn't add or bring anything new to the table for me. looks doesn't really add up to much and speed certainly aint a factor, so yeah, whatever i suppose.
