Hi all,

Trying to jump back into max after many years and struggling to scrape the rust off my braincells....

Made this image:

But struggling to make it look 'really' gold - can't figure if it's a camera, lighting, material or AN Other tweak needed....!

Have just followed the tut and techniques here:

Any pointers/ideas?

Looks like the fresnel is wrong to me.
You could maybe try using a different type of material. what renderer are you using?
If youre using mental ray try using the arch & design materials theyre somewhat more physically correct.

What renderer?

For mental ray:

For V-Ray, try similar settings :)

Also, without something around it to reflect metals does not look very "metally", since metals are mostly reflections.
