Geodesic Duals
Tortured_Soul
I know few people here will be architects, but I need a bit of help with a structure I'm building a domed city.
The idea is I'm taking a building the canopy out of a geodesic dome made from a geosphere but rather than have the panels made from triangle, I want to generate the polyhedral dual of the dome so that panels are hexagonal...
I know roughly how to do this, by chamfering the vertices, but because the strut lengths of Geospheres are variable throughout the dome, I can't just do it all once, I'd need to do each level at a time, which is sort've annoying.
Basically, I was wondering if there was a tool/script/macro that would do it for me.
And also, a simpler question, how do I get MAX to return the displacement (distance) between two vertices I can't be bothered doing the vector maths myself, not for the amount of vertices I'd need need to anyway.

Why do people not use google?

Noticed "Rick Bono's Dome Software" on wiki page you linked. Googled "Rick Bono Dome Software" 5th result > Scroll down a bit. profit.
