general website resolution Q
show user profile  STRAT
Hi guys

Is the current thinking in web site sizing still in the 1024-1280 pixel size region? what with retina displays and ultra hi res screens becoming the norm these days (on home, portable and mobile devices) what is the current way of thinking? cos most 'normal' web sites look very small and poxy on a decent sized screen these days.

i know the ideal is probably develop your site to dynamically fit any res, but a lot dont and wont, so what is the current or new or futre way of web sizing?

If a website forces me to be full screen, I won't use it. Personally, I like it when they stretch, but have a realistic minimum size.

For me, 1024 is ok, while 1280 is annoying. I like windows I can tile across my monitor rather than full width.

i might go for 915. a tad smaller than my current, but suits most mobile devices perfectly.
