FSB Speeds for new system.
show user profile  albongino
hey guys,

I'm getting a new system and I have an option between 2 dual socket motherboards, with a difference of over a hundred+ dollars for a few upgrades on the better one including support for 800Mhz memory, the cheaper one supports up to 667Mhz, so here's the thing..

how will that difference affect on rendering Mainly, multi tasking, etc. when I'm getting up to 8Gb of memory, running at 64bits?

both motherboards are the same brand and I love them both (TYAN TEMPEST i5400PL, i5400PW) , but will I really see the difference in performance? when I can spend the same money for Mobo+RAM on the cheaper one?

the FSB is the speed at which your processor communicates with everything, your ram, your video cards, everything. An extra 123mhz will make a lot of difference.
