Have you guys seen this?? It's amazing!

It sounds like this (amazingly talented) guy's pet project. I definitely recommend watching the video all the way to the end. It gets increasingly more impressive. The entire app and rendering is web based. One of the best practical examples I've seen of WebGL. He hasn't made it publicly available yet. But it looks pretty well baked already. Really impressed with the UI design as well.

I can imagine going a bit insane spending hours and hours flying through infinite alien landscapes...

wow, superawesome :)
Reminds me a bit of a progressive ray tracer like Vray RT or Bunkspeed but then in the browser?
I wonder how he does it :)

I wish he'd hurry up and release this, he made this video ages ago.

Sure is pretty, but aside from futuristic cityscapes, what can you actually use it for ?

I am enjoying the narrators voice though.. Very soothing..

Terribly boring signature.

Looks cool, but pretty useless unless you can get rid of that tiling.

I think the tiling is just a convenience function of instancing via the gpu/shaders.. He hints at exporting point-clouds to meshlab so i think it'd be possible to grab single instances, mesh them, and then combine them with other meshed instances to get some pretty cool environments right off the bat..

Personally i'd love to just mess around with it, looks great..

Sweet. Been looking into mandelbrots quite a lot recently, with a main focus to do 360 VR fly-throughs. I've only looked into Mandelbulb 3D so far, but it seems it can't do 360 and stereoscopic at the same time yet. Something goes wrong at least. This guy seems to have a good interface. Usually, the controls for mandelbrots are not exactly artist friendly, to say the least =) If you have a Rift or a Gear VR, I recommend watching this: Ordinary trailer

The Cryogenian teaser trailer from Julius Horsthuis on Vimeo.

Full 360 animation Even though it isn't stereoscopic, it's still pretty awesome, and the music makes it better.
