Forum suggestion/question
show user profile  $$T-bone$$
i know this probly sounds more like a lazy-man question but, would it be too much to ask for a TOP OF PAGE button at the bottom of every thread?
Mainly because some of these threads get soooo frickin' long and i like to just read them sometimes, and go back to "All Forums". Hitting the back button doesn't update so i don't use it...and scrolling aaaalll the way back up in some of these is a bitch!
spoon.......i know you don't have much time so i don't expect anything in the near future but, this is just a small nit-pik of mine.

couldnt find the forum improvement thread so just gonna post it here.

is it possible to have the time stamps on posts converted to everyones different timezones? also the IP location finder might need some improving since some people show up in wrong places. so their time would be wrong...

cheers

^do you have any idea how much coding and database work that would take?

Bryan - you take the time you have now as a timestamp, you have an additional field for a user where GMT minus or plus is stored, you add those 2 numbers, and display that.
I'd say about 3 minutes :P

I like that it doesn't convert the timezones as it gives all posts a 'maxforums standard time'. It helps me not feel bad that noone replies to my posts when I see that the time recorded is 4AM.

I have to say that scroll-back-top-top thing gets me too... very good suggestion with the home key... :| I wonder how many other people haven't thought of that!?

While wer'e on the topic of suggestions, I'll throw my niggle in... this forum donsn't keep u logged in, and clicking 'login' whilst in a thread (with the aim of replying), and logging in , then takes you back to the homepage, rather than the thread you were just in... can be very annoying if you forget which thread you were in....

get mozilla (yes) or IE7 (worst case scenario) and just middle mouse click the login link. then just go back and refresh the thread you were in and ur logged in :)

i'd like an option to block specific people's posts- just so that one person can't see what the blocked person has posted- or can if they unblock them i suppose
it would be more of a personised maxforum experience

That would be really weird because you would see people replying to those blocked people and you would be out of the conversation and therefore the whole thread would kinda be a bit pointless, therefore you may aswell just not open the thread to start with. Unless im foreseeing it wrong

weeding out the pointless is the point to be honest- but you're right about the probable disjointedness of things- was just a thought
