looking fo alternatives to rpc cars

They can be a bit dodgy when you start to get close so i was thinking of just grabbing some low poly models from here
http://www.doschdesign.com/products/3d/Lo-Poly_Cars_V1-2.html

and was wondering if anyone has experience of them or any better alternatives?

they look pretty decent but the images are to small to see much. How close could you get before they look rough?

also it says they have "pre-mapped reflections and noise" i take it this means they don't reflect their environment?

depends on how 'real' you want to get. i'm rendering off a job as we speak for web and brochure for a large client, and very happy with their look and feel, and particularly their file handling -

even close up they usually suit our purposes :)

Are those cars modeled after real car brands or are they "look-a-likes" ? I remember that some car companies are very protective about the usage of their brand. Have you run into any problems ?

they are modelled off the real deal. and no, we personally haven't hit those problems and never anticipate those problems.
