it may sound like people are being harsh, but with max, it's not a program that can be jumped into and learned overnight. if you look, a lot of people on this forum have been using max for years and havn't even touched on 1/4 of the functions in max. it could take you years just to master modeling and that still leaves materials, lights, animation, scripting and so on to learn. i hope you can learn it as fast as you need to to get the gig, but it will take a lot of work. all of the people here started where you are and are only trying to help you out. the tutorials that came with max are definatly the best way to learn. also google 3d studio max tutorials for some really good tutorials that might be exaclty what your looing for and search max forums. alot of good info out there. good luck, and listen to what everyone here has to say, they can teach you a lot.

jesus, it's not about you asking noob questions...
those are always welcomed.
we were just saying... your too new to this to be selling your work to someone and rather then deliever a half assed model you may want to show some maturity (and save your ass from looking dumb) by telling the company that your talking to that the image you posted first is out of your league by a long shot...
dont take it as offensive, just listen to the people here who know all this alot better then you. like me for example.
cheers.
p.s. there's alot more that went into that initial image then making some walls and put around some furniture, trust me.
p.p.s.
Sorry guys. Did I struck a nerve? You cant be new to 3d studio in this forum? Sorry, I will not ask any more "newbie" questions then...
your a grown 27 year old person, dont act like a child por favor. gracias.

a word of caution... your wrong, and it would be very big of you to admit that in some sort of manner before people here start taking you as a joke...
cause your quickly running down that path.
(there's a large difference between being childish and kidding around, you might want to take note of that)

Couldn't agree with Bolteon any more, if he hadn't of said anything, I would've.
DeeJay, by all means ask questions, and use this forum to progress yourself... but if you're getting paid for the level of skill that you are clearly at... then someone's getting ripped off. (Hint. not you!).
You are simply not good enough to devlier goods to a paying client yet. Accept it, and get better. Or... get paid for shoddy workings, do the company no justice what so ever and prevent someone with actual talent from making a buck. Your call.

Tnx for the advice Bolteon...coming from a grown 21 year old person...
The last thing I want is ppl like you Bolteon taking me as a joke :-o
Anyway, thanks for the comments so far. If anyone else has any advice for me, I will be glad to hear. I have a couple of months preparing a model. The realestate agency know im totally new at 3d studio. I' ve recently made some models for them in sketchup, and they asked me some days ago if I could look into 3d studio... thats the case..
And it is nothing about ripping anyone off... they have asked me, and I said I will look into it! Have not promised anything.

Global Illumination. Uvmapping. Raytrace materials. Cloth modifier. Applying materials. Opacity map. Spot lights. Falloff map.
Cut/Extrude/Chamfer/Weld.
F1, research all of these. That is what the scene uses.
And if I am not mistaken, sketchup models can be brought into max, never done it myself.

that's funny considering i make more money in the industry your trying to break into (@ 21), then you ever will... not to mention the years of expirience i have in doing this for the closer end of a decade, what do you have to show for it?
cause i've got my work in comercials, web, print, and soon to be moives...
dont be insepid. know your place, you may be older then mysefl but you can't deal with me being many times your senior in this instance, and that's not a good start.
best of luck to you, like quack has pointed out you'll need to know at least 4 different factions of 3d work but with that sort of attitude your putting up so far: might as well stick to your job at mcdonalds.

i see white .. the original image looks like its done by someone who has experience in the software their using. itd be a good thing to aim for as a starting project because youd have to cover allot of areas. I wouldnt give your self any deadlines for it yet though as its probably something that you will have to build up step by step.
