flexible trampoline
danihel
i need to make an animation with trampoline that actually stretches under the weight of a person.
Anyone knows how to modify an object in order to make an animated trampoline?
i would attach the wip trampoline model but i don't know how to upload attachments here

Guess you could do this with cloth?
Or if it's a relative simple animation you could animate it using soft selection in vertex mode (making morph targets would make it all easier too).

thanks for reply
i found and followed this tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAE3iNuDgOM
but in 3ds max 2010 it doesn't work for some reason, when i add mass to the box in the rigid body physical properties the box doesn't move at all

Why not just put a couple of bones in it and skin it?

You could also use the bend modifier and animate that

spherify modifier on a soft selection might work too, or an ffd, or displacement mod, or.. a camel.

ok i managed to find out at least bunch of crucial things about how to work with the reactor thing but i guess my trampoline is too complicated for it not to freeze every time i start preview
so i decided to apply ffd(cyl) on the tramp and animate it manually
thanks everyone for your ideas i wish i had more time to explore them
