Flatting splines
show user profile  Manolo
Hi there,

I've got some blueprints of a set of buildings with an annoying Z coord. difference (It's on a slightly inclinated terrain, no effects renderwise), so I wonder how can I flatten all vertex so their Z coord is 0.

Lots of them, on lots of splines.

Thanks

Cheers,

Manolo

Rebounding with ACAD -flatten- did the trick OK, thou I still wonder if there is an easy way within max.

Select all splines.
Add edit spline modifier,
vertex mode,
select all
pivot to centre of selection
right click the scale button to open the dialogue
right click the z axis to zero it.
Collapse stack

For splines I use Flatten_Spline_XYZ script, last updated in 2005, but seems to work ok in 2014.

pretty useful.

Scale to 0 on z axis
Reset XForm
Convert to editable spline

Done :D
