exr and jpeg have diff result

Rendering some furniture and thought to save the result as exr than jpeg or png but same result from Vray saving as exr and jpeg give me kinda diff result.

Saturation is different any body know why?

Is the gamma baked in in the jpg to 2.2 and in the exr the gamma is 1.0?

This is normal... the gamma thing

I like to just save EXRs and convert to jpg in photoshop

ijzerman. Nope both saved with same gamma.

3ddeath, We have much control in 32bit exr but why da fuk does it change the saturation idk why. It should have asked me at least :D but anyway thanks

Jpg and png are lossy - it cant store what your looking at in the vfb because your viewing colors higher than 255 and even a 16bit png loses color information.

Exr is lossless. Similar to a raw camera file it contains a depth of information which is compressed to save space but no data is lost

When rendering - save to exr. Save yourself the hassles of gamma, and color loss, you want the most control u can get if you need it later
