Export/Rendering Problem?
show user profile  Busted Ed
Hello, I'm currently working on a small space scene for a game I'm working on. The problem is for some reason 3dsmax doesn't render the video correctly.

I'm rendering through video-post, since I've added some effects, in HDTV 1920X1080 res, using Nvidia mental ray to a .avi file.

The thing is, I start o render the video and it's all ok, but when the render ends the video is full of breaks and ends halfway, which doesn't make any sense.

Can someone help me? I have to hand over this animation this week and this isn't looking good...

Thanks

Render to exr or png or whatever format you like. avi isn't advised.

If you have After Effects or Nuke or Vegas you can add the effects there.

I'd not use video-post as it often crashes for me. I think you can use RAM player or something, but I don't use that either. I just render them out normally.

personally i'd render an image sequence instead of an .avi

if you still have the problem at least you can see which frames are affected.

you can then make an avi to hand off.

Hm I see, yeah, video-post isn't working very well for me too, for some reason it doesn't render the starfield which I think it's pretty bad..

I decided to export the image sequence like you sugested, at least I know this way nothing should go wrong.

Thanks a lot guys :)
