Explode editable poly to elements
show user profile  mike_renouf
Hi all,

Just a quick query. Is there a command to explode an editable poly into its elements (not polygons)?

I found this script our very own Garp did some time ago, but it doesn't seem to work anymore under 2015, unless i'm doing something wrong?

I've got about 30 models I need to break down into elements :S

I'll have to try this later...

Can't believe there isn't an option under Edit Poly. That's pathetic AutoDicks.

Here's a couple I use regularly.

Select Objects By BitmapTex, there's a great detach section with many post process options:

Detach by Material ID is better if your mesh has a sub-obj material applied, it splits by mat id and assigns the relevant material to the detached section (I *think* that's what "Propagate Materials" means ).

RappaTools 3 has an explode poly object tool.

There isn't a view normals in Edit Poly mode either, some things never change.
