Explode
show user profile  K u r a i

In Sketchup there is an Explode Tool that lets you split an object into layers.
Some models I download are Grouped and cannot be ungrouped. I change them into Editable Meshes
and re-group them into parts... like the legs of the chair, the cushions etc...

... so I can apply materials in the Material Editor.

Is this the right way to do it or is there an Explode Command to make it easier?

I don't appreciate my name being used by you so much (in jest or not).

1. Don't group, it's buggy. There is an ungroup option in the top menu.
2. There's multi-sub materials with slots, if you use them in conjunction with material id's you can get multiple maps/materials onto one object.
3. Youtube. Always youtube. When in doubt, youtube. And if all else fails, youtube.
4. If youtube fails, then ask.
5. Get to know your audience here, you may not realise, but there are a hell of a lot of professionals at this forum. And I mean professionals. Like, pro's, but not prostitutes. Never make that mistake. Pro's =/= prostitutes.

I've had plenty of amature pro's. Prefer them, tbh. Then again I only go for 18 year olds.

It's funny that when I ask for help... people get pissed off ... but if someone writes something porn related... everyone writes with enthusiasm.

I reakon you are all still virgins.

Help takes time and is based on a number of variables, if one of those variables is too apparent... help won't be forthcoming....only suggestions or pointers to help yourself.

Porn on the other hand is easy.:)

K u r a i, don't worry. You will get the hang of being a member here. It's not worth taking offense at anything that is said on these forums, and you will get great unbiased advice.

Max 2015 crashes when I try and use the 'Select & Place' tool.
When I try and drag an object it crashes.

I have SP1+2 installed.

Any ideas anyone?
