How to exclude lighting/environment from single objects (skylight)
show user profile  digital3ds

I want this hose object to disregard my lighting set-up (which consists of a skylight using the environment as "ibl" ) ---> in the environment slot I have an "environment/bg switcher" --> In the bg there is a solid white gradient, and in my environment I have a gradient ramp from light blue to to white. You can see the blue being reflecting in the hose

I want the hose to use some other light source, like an omni or something... I think... I guess I just don't want it to reflect the environment.

Is there anyway to set the hose's A&D material to read some other sort of environment, or something of the sort? Thanks

There is an environment slot in the A&D material which will force it to reflect this instead of the regular environment you have set. I don't know how this will affect the "IBL" of the object though.

yea, my skylight is affecting it pretty heavy.. And I switched to a preset plastic.. I think the only way to completely get around this is to use that environment slot and try to recreate one of the presets in a&d
