... since I stumbled into this forums.

I remembered I got banned once. I dunno. IIRC this isn't my first nick in this forum.

And boy you guys are the harshest community I've ever found.

But I'll just say, without those, I'll probably doing 9-5 jobs today.

Instead, I'm now a lead animator at the biggest animation studio in Southeast Asia.

I've been abandoning modeling and 3DSMax for quite awhile, and I'm still kinda in crossroads of choosing what software should fit me. Since I've been working around with all the autodesk trio along my career. But lately I favored XSI (Softimage) much.

Some people are still here I see... like Mr. Grotey, Sir_Manfred, wow. At least those are the familiar ones for me. And the shitty forum engine is still maintained well till today. lol.

Anyways... I just thought I'm dropping to say hi. I might help some newbies aswell.

and the shameless promotion, visit my site if you have some spare times.

nothing much wrong with spoon's forum engine. does the job.

might not have all the bells & whistles of some of the others but it's unique and extendible.

as an artist you likely know that to critique you don't call something shitty, you identify flaws & suggest improvements.

hi.

Ok wrong wording I guess. Too harsh

It's much more "Barebone" and basic than say vbulletin or phpBB.

And 10 years it's not evoling. This is EXACTLY how the forums were 10 years ago, except for paging I guess.

I remembered the whole thread was viewed in 1 page only, then somewhere from there page view were added. And I don't think it's evolving much from there.

Nevertheless, an artist should know aswell that it's not the tool that matters.

In this case, the community still alive and well despide the basic tool.

And it's definitely not a bad thing,

this is actually at least version 3 or the forum. First the forum was blue if I remember correctly, then it pretty much stayed as it is now on the outside but spoon did rewrite the engine a few times.
I guess it's a great example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

the properties menu is broke imo - notify doesn't work so should be removed or greyed out.

add thread to favourites should be a top level menu button, not second level checkbox on a thread's context menu. imo.

I'd zap the properties menu altogether.

oops... spoon stopping by... this is awkward.

bottom line is... whatever the forum engine it use, the fact that the whole site running for these years that's what makes it awesome. Still solid. And it's non-commercial, still, to this second. That's one helluva job and awesome community maintaining nevertheless.

Um... I think setherial is one of the older guys too... btw

I was here since 2000 i guess.
It was a time when "there is no spoon" joke was used a lot and Kurt Drubbel uploaded his dof bottles. That was just wow for us here. ))
Eric Asorson aka fyerstarter was a big name here and Digital Freebaser made his way to big studio by making consequtive awesome images.
eeh.. nostalgie.
Well all that time i was coming here from time to time but never enough to make friends and start working in this community.
Well maybe now i can do more.

Maxforums rules! :)

hah khamski, at least you can prove it (or maybe you just made notes from previous threads about old users)

in honour of that, I'm using a vintage sig, and never changing it again

aww.. I missed my 10year day.. forgot all about it.
The forum got the nice tree structure menu on the left in the time that I have been here. Thats a major change in my book (at least I think that was added later, along with categories)..

Maxforums fo lyphe!!

Terribly boring signature.
