evo x audio work...
show user profile  Bolteon
so here's this weekends fruits, it might not seem like much but it's my first time getting audio into something like this.

all the audio work so far has been stuff that was captured from an actual evo x at a mitsubishi dealership with some good mics and then ran through protools, layed out and tweaked (to all hell), and timed accordingly.

while i'm the visual guy in the family, my younger brother is the audio side. he's 19 and knows the protools like the back of his hand, some impressive stuff he pulls off with the equipment he has at his disposal. luckily for me, he's all for helping me with this aspect of the project. just about all the work done here is his creation, i'm just telling him what i like in terms of sound and timing; the rest is his talent at work.

so far its just the dub of the car noises from the engine, there's more work to be done... alot more. crits and comments welcome as always.

updates will commence sometime this weekend again.

hm... I think the audio is off? the engine starts a second or two after the headlights turn on. (almost right as it cuts to the wheel shot)

Looks like you need a clip of the car accelerating for the rolling shots, not just a rev. that would do nicely I think :-) And the right to left fade of the audio towards the end is a little odd, seems out of place?

All of the revs sound a little lame compared to the last one, the last one (on the end logo) sounds like it has the most balls, even though it sounds like it slams the rev limiter. Got other clips like that one? -

I think something went wrong with the sync

It's like it's 2-3 secs out.

Is this for an advert or something? if you're focusing so much on the filmmaking side of things why don't you make a little race out of it, you seem skilled at 3ds max to do that and if you can build an evo then you can probably make some terrain and a city street rather than a black background, do you use adobe audition or logic etc?

The star ship enterprise sounds beefier on my stereo.

Just kidding, the audio sounded pretty good, it rattled everything in the room and was not distorted.

Also the audio shifts from the right speaker to the left on the 'travelling-through-smoke' clip but that doesn't reflect what you are seeing

Yeah seems a bit off! I'm not sure who your parents should be disappointed with the most though

odd, the audio should sync fine, but then again i haven't actually listened to the vid itself, but the original that it came from is fine.

The audio itself sounds great, anyway. Force is strong...
