engine Sound fx

I'm making an animation with a few motorcycles. How would you go about putting sound to that?
Is there a tecnique maybe to use some sample sounds and tune and mix them in some software to achieve correct acceleration and other sounds matching the animation?

Some software = Any audio app or better an NLE like premiere or vegas or avid of FCP.
You could layer and integrate alot of SFX to picture that way.

does anyone have any experience with any of these programs for this kind of use?
And does anyone know of where to get some good engine sound fx?
i'm looking for sounds of a Ducati monster, but a similar racing bike would also do.

i've tried to get some from youtube Dave, but the sound is either crappy, or very polluted.
But i've found a site that sells good detailed sound. i hnk this will do great.

I've been using Sony Vegas since version 4 and I love it. (back then it was called the movie factory from Sonic Foundry). It will do the job brilliantly!

ALWAYS found what I needed there. :)

i did this once using nothing but the tone generator in adobe audition and some filters. have a real close listen to a similar engine noise to what you want, youtube it ect. pull it apart in your head and work out what sound the lows are making, the mids, the highs and all the sounds that combine to make an engine noise, and have a go at that.

He who says it cannot be done is interrupting the man doing it.
