easy question
show user profile  mattymoose
I'm in the middle of switching between workstations, and I'd like to keep all my max defaults the same, especially some menu customization I did. Is there a file somewhere that I can copypasta from my old install to my new install, that will carry over my custom ui settings?

I've already copied my entire \ui directory, but it didn't work. Anything else I can try?

windows search isn't finding any .ini files. I really think thats the right answer but I can't locate the file anywhere (on either the original install or the one I just installed today)

lol, question answered in another post

I am currently running Max 2008 and I can't seem to find my copy of it either. It is always there when I need to delete it though. I have never searched for it in this particular version, only up to version 9. I am not sure if the location has changed or if it has been renamed. I always used to find it in the root of the max folder under program files on my C: drive.

copy & pasta aren't enough.
you have to reload them too and save ui-cofig on exit.
