DSLR advise - EOS Rebel T3 EF-S 18-55IS II Kit vs EOS Rebel T2i EF-S 18-55IS II Kit
show user profile  Kajico
Anybody have experience between the two? Is the extra 200 bucks worth it for the T2i?
Is the lower end T3 good enough, by good enough I mean is it compatible with most lenses and Canon accessories?

I'm thinking it mostly for macro shots for some stop motion experimentation I'm doing.

I have the 550 D (T2i).
Did you just edit while I was signing in?

Check out this site for a side by side comparison http://snapsort.com/compare
or Google both camera names and the word compare and read some of what is out there.

I am under the impression that both cameras are just as capable of accepting canon accessories BUT the kit lens will only fit on crop sensor cameras.

Macro shots will require macro equipment. I have the 100mm f/2.8L lens. It is really nice but a bit pricey.

Yeah i did some comparisons on the two and there's barely any difference except for the mega, pixels sensors and everything is about the same including hookups.

i'll probably go for the cheaper one.

Indeed, seems the major differences are the pixels and the video resolution (1080p vs 720p)

Many people forget that cheaper camera's are always equiped with lesser batteries so be aware of that (less autonomy)

And last but not least, go to a store and hold the both of them, you will notice a 'very' different feel to them.

Good luck choosing

just get the T3i Kit and be broke as ass like me! Totally worth it, even if I have to eat boiled gravel stew for the next 4 months.

lol, I want a 5d so much. I have been using one for a couple of moths now and they leave my shitty little 550d's behind by miles.

although I've heard a Mk III is coming out in 2012....

At about $190 or so difference between the T2i and T3 just get the T2i which at the higher res and full HD would be a little more future proofed than the T3. Not that there is any such thing as future proof really.
