Distortion Effect????
show user profile  Fast_Learner
After multiple attempts, I still can't find a way to distort the background of a scene through a directional blast in the foreground. Does anyone know how to do this??? I specifically want to create an "invisible" rocket blast that does nothing but distort the light behind it.

In After Effects, load up your render, apply an 'Adjustment Layer', then apply a "Turbulent Displace" and muck around with the settings.

Ive got mine set at Amount 30, Size 4, Complexity 5, Animated Evolution, Cycle Revolutions 1.

Surely you will have to adjust them according to your shot but this should get you started.
