debris/gravel - max 2009
hey guys, was wondering if anyone could tell me a way to make decent looking debris or gravel or something similar, i've got like a city scene and well it gets a bit chaotic and i need some of this stuff
or even some cracks on the pavement :s
is it best to find like a plugin or just model it...
any advice will be highly appreciated. cheers guys

It depends how close you are going to get to the gravel. If its only far away then use normal mapping. If you are getting a bit nearer you might want to try displacement. If you are getting macro distances then modelling it will be better

If you need the actual geometry, you could give those two a try (haven't tried the second):

Check out 'Action Essentials' by Andrew Kramer- video co-pilot. I'm using them mapped onto planes right now and they look great.
