I finally arrived at the point where I said fuck it, I'm buying one!!! It's a lot of money, it's just a hobby but hey, we only live once :)
The new toyset I bought yesterday:
Nikon D700
AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 G ED
AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G
AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G IF-ED
Put together with the rest of the family
Some test shots from yesterday (took the kids to the Zoo, everything is shot with the tele)
shot today with the 50mm at high ISO
the missis, after bringing her the good news, hon we're broke!
Still have to figur a lot out (or read the manual) but so far I'm not complaining :)

Seth: I use different setups, but the latest photo's have been made inside a tent. I bought one at www.kamera-express.nl. I use a Sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro prime, sometimes combined with a couple of extention tubes.
For lighting I currently use a SB-600 just outside the tent. But in the near future I want to get a second flash so I can flash from multiple sides. And also some led lights to create highlights.
I have a thread here where I'm posting some of my macro/studio shots. Still trying to learn and get better.

Can't you set it up like in how much k? Daylight 5600K... indoor in evenings at 3200K etc etc...
