Custom Spotlight shape possible?
show user profile  asd
How can I make a spotlight that doesn't have a round or rectangle shape, but an irregular one, defined by the user (eg oval, spiral, S-like etc)?

You can use a custom image made for example in photoshop with irregular shape and use it as a "projector map"

select lights/spotlight/advanced effects, choose projector map and assign that bitmap to your spotlight

Good luck

Not sure about the spot or directionals, but I know Omni lights can be non-uniformly scaled into an oval, which is useful when working with some volumetric effects and/or falloffs.
Specialty: Non-organic modelling and effects.
Setup: 3D Studio 2010 with finalRender.
Rig: No, no I can't.
