Nice crisp reference images?
I have reference images on planes, but they're really blocky.
I've discovered that if I go to customize/preferences/viewports and change the driver from DirectX 9 to 10 - I get nice crisp reference images, but also several issues, such as no vertices showing in perspective viewport, no red selected polys unless in wireframe and all the edges for the faces are visible.
How can I get crisp reference images and none of the issues?
I'm using 3dsmax 2010.
...sorry for the noob question.

You'll want to tick that Match Bitmap Size as Closely as Possible bit:
Oh, I've got a bunch of stuff highlighted there, ignore the bits you don't need.

Match bitmap size doesn't seem to have any effect whatsoever...
....got it! I just needed to reload the bitmap in the materials editor!
Nobody had ever mentioned that you need to reload the texture!
Thanks. I was expecting a load of abuse for asking stupid questions, but I really needed to double check I was setting everything up correctly.
