Create HSBS animation (for 3d monitors/TVs)
show user profile  hestraviz
Hello there!!

Glad to be part of this great space.
I have been working on some projects and have come with the idea of generating a 3d HSBS animation, which I could play in a 3d TV.
In order to accomplish that, I have so far created a scene, with 2 cameras slightly apart from each other that would create the illusion of "left/right" images. Rendered each camera separatelly and meshed the outputs with a video manager software.
In this case, it works, but the 3D image is not good, you can see borders in the left and right edges of the objects which I understand have to do with the distance the cameras are separated from each other.

Has anybody tried this kind of work yet? If so, could you please share some tips on how to set the required parameters for the cameras?

Thanks so much in advance!!

Regards

Henry.-

I believe there's an option to automatically get 3d output if you're using vray. Maybe there's also a mental ray option. Worth checking out as you'll get a cleaner result than doing it manually, plus you can move the focal distance around a lot easier (I assume) since you'll only need 1 camera.
